By Air

Fly to Stockholm Arlanda Airport, which is actually closer to Uppsala than Stockholm, so you do not need to go by Stockholm on your way here. How to get to Uppsala from Arlanda is described below.

By Train or Bus from Arlanda Airport

Going by train from Arlanda to Uppsala is very convenient. The Upptåget-train leave twice an hour from Arlanda Airport and the trip takes about 20 minutes, see UL for further information. The trains leave from SkyCity (between terminal 4 and 5). Purchase your ticket before you enter the train and validate it on the train. The price is about 120 SEK.

Bus 801 to Uppsala leaves twice an hour from bus stop No. 13 (all terminals). The bus ticket is bought on the bus and the price is about 100 SEK. The trip takes about 50 minutes. See UL for timetable and further information.

By Taxi from Arlanda Airport

A taxi from Arlanda to the Centre for Image Analysis (address Polacksbacken, House 2, Lägerhyddsvägen 2) should cost about 430 SEK. It is important to agree on the price before leaving Arlanda. The trip takes about 30 minutes.

By Train

Trains for Uppsala leave Stockholm approximately twice per hour, and the trip takes about 45 minutes. Tickets can be bought in a machine at the platform or at "Pressbyrån", or on the train (but then its more expensive).

Time tables from anywhere in Sweden can be found at SJ. Take a local bus or taxi from Uppsala Central Station to CBA (see below).

By Car

From Stockhom: drive north on the E4, direction Sundsvall. Follow signs to Uppsala. Take the first exit towards Uppsala. Turn left in the large roundabout (Kungsängsleden, sign towards Ultuna). Continue on Kungsängsleden about 3km (pass three traffic lights, you will pass the Ångström lab on your right side) and turn right on Dag Hammarskjölds väg (at a large crossing with traffic lights). Turn right at the first roundabout (next to a gas station) and you have reached the MIC and Ångström area. The car can be parked on the large parking lot to the right. CBA is located in House 2, the large house to the right in the MIC area, seen from the parking lot. For an overview of the campus area see the map.

Local Buses from central Uppsala

Buses number 1,12 and 20 leave from central Uppsala. Get off at Polacksbacken and walk across the street. The house closest to the bus stop is House 2 which houses CBA on the first floor. Time tables can be found at UL. Tickets can be bought on the bus with a credit card with a 'chip' and cost about 30 SEK. Tickets can not be bought with cash on the bus. You can buy cheaper tickets (with cash or credit card) in machines outside the bus at the central station or Stora Torget, or by using SMS (see the bus stop for info). Taxi from central Uppsala

A taxi from downtown Uppsala to the Centre for Image Analysis (address Polacksbacken, House 2, Lägerhyddsvägen 2) costs about 100 SEK. The trip takes 10-15 minutes. It is important to agree on the price before taking off.

Walking (or biking) from central Uppsala

There is a nice walking and biking path along the Fyris river from central Uppsala to CBA. Just follow the Fyris river south on its western bank (from Svandammen and stadsparken) until you reach a sign that says Polacksbacken. Turn right, cross the road and go up the steep hill at the sign for Eklundshof. Pass Eklundshof and continue to the MIC campus area. CBA is located in the last of the three large houses (house 2). The walk will take approximately half an hour (3km).
